Game #160 The final weekend

The Washington Nationals had the Scrappy Nats back yesterday until Kyle Finnegan imploded on the mound and gave up 3-runs to take the loss. The Nats are in a long losing streak and looking for Trevor Williams to bring them the 70th win. We will see if Mother Nature and the Baseball Gods cooperate.

The Nats need to go 3-0 to surpass their 2023 win total and that is now looking very bleak. Win one game and the Nats reach the 70-win mark.

The Nats are underdogs today at +155 to win on the moneyline. That means if you bet $100 you would win $155. Bet $10.00 and you win $15.50.

Nats’ manager Dave Martinez pushed the back of his bullpen to the point that we don’t know what Derek Law or Finnegan have left in their arms.

Here is a look at the matchups:

  1. Friday: Trevor Williams vs. Phillies
  2. Saturday: MacKenzie Gore vs. Phillies
  3. Sunday: Jake Irvin vs. Phillies (Final Game of the Season)

Your top Washington Nationals on the FanGraphs’ WAR leaderboard has MacKenzie Gore at the top at 2.9 and just ahead of Luis Garcia Jr. at +2.8. Jacob Young is at +2.4. CJ Abrams whose season has ended is at +1.8 WAR. There are 29 Nats’ players in positive WAR with another 6.

“Once again, we just couldn’t score any more runs.”

— said manager Dave Martinez yesterday
