The Washington Nationals losing streak continues with the starting pitchers putting the team in a deep hole. The offense fought back but it is hard to win when your starter gives up 8-runs over 4.0 innings.
With the day-off on Monday and the “A” bullpen not used yesterday, the Nats bullpen should be ready to go long today if needed, especially since tomorrow is another scheduled day-off before the weekend series against the Dodgers.
“If you look at our starting pitching right now, they’re going four-plus innings. When we get five-plus, six innings, we’re usually pretty good. I think that’s key.”
— manager Dave Martinez said
