Game #123 Nats have a big weekend

The Washington Nationals have the Phillies in town for a weekend series; however, the series heads to Williamsport, Pennsylvania as a “home game” for the Nats in the Little League Classic for Sunday. Tonight and tomorrow will be played in Nats Park, and the Nats have their three worst starters pitching as ranked by ERA.

A bus left Nats Park this morning for Commanders Park in Ashburn, Virginia to view their football practice. Manager Dave Martinez and Commanders head coach Ron Rivera spent time together and players from both teams got to talk to each other. Wider Receiver Terry McLaurin offered to pinch run and steal some bases. It is the first time that the Nats and the Commanders have ever done anything like this on such a grand scale.

“It’s fun, because I preach all the time about keeping things simple, doing the little things. The baserunning. Throwing strikes. Getting outs. Playing good defense. And it’s come to fruition. When you can do those things, you have a chance to win consistently. And we’ve been doing that for the last month. It’s been a lot of fun.
