The Washington Nationals are back on the road, and woke up today in Kansas City, Missouri for a weekend series against the Royals. Tonight, it is Patrick Corbin on the mound with the hopes of getting back in the win column.
There is no telling how manager Dave Martinez will set up his bullpen for tonight. The hope, of course, is that Corbin can be effective and pitch efficient, and go deep in this game.
For the Royals, they have Jordan Lyles, a right-hander getting the start in this one. Martinez will counter with Corey Dickerson in left field as the team tries to stack a few more lefty batters.
“Right now, we’ll just continue to let him build. He’s going to have to pitch seven or eight times before we figure out what the next step is for him, and hopefully without any issues.”
— manager Dave Martinez on Sean Doolittle
