The Washington Nationals bent but didn’t break in the afternoon win today, and thanks to the bat of CJ Abrams for getting the Nats two different leads in this game as he now leads the team in RBIs. Abrams’ home run in the seventh inning was not as dramatic as a walk-off, but it was a game winner, slugged with his pink Mother’s Day bat, that gave him 411 feet of distance above the center field wall.
After nearly 32,000 fans for Friday night, the Saturday suspended game only sold 24,336 tickets and finished up in the afternoon today with a light crowd.
The ex-Nats future Hall-of-Fame pitcher, Max Scherzer is back in Nats Park as a visitor. He returns after suffering neck and back pain, and he will face Jake Irvin of the Nats who is just trying to make a name for himself as a replacement for Chad Kuhl in the Nats’ rotation.
“Some guys have the knack for hitting with guys on-base”
