That tweet from February 9 needs a couple of updates. Paolo Espino has opted-out of the WBC and will stay with the Nats. Jeimer Candelario has been added to the WBC roster for the Dominican Republic, and he has departed to join that team. The Nats have MacKenzie Gore on the mound today for his third start of Grapefruit League play. He will try to go three innings but could be pulled earlier based on pitch count. For instance, Patrick Corbin tried to go three innings on Sunday with a 50-pitch limit and lasted 2 1/3 innings when he topped out on his pitch count. It will be interesting to see if Gore is kept on a schedule to start Opening Day on March 30. Starts on March 12, March 17, and March 22 on regular rest would give Gore an extra three days of rest before Opening Day. Maybe an extra day on another start can change that. We will see. There are no more days-off until the March 27 family travel day to Washington, D.C. The Nats will have an exhibition game against Team Israel for their WBC warm-up on Thursday at 6:05 pm. Cade Cavalli is scheduled to be the starting pitcher for the Nats. As of now, there is no TV or Radio for that game. That could change.Congrats to the players in our organization who have been selected to WBC rosters! pic.twitter.com/MSrdJ3EYs1
