Mother Nature and massive thunderstorms have been wreaking havoc on weather in the region, and it is anyone’s guess if the game will start on-time and even get played in its entirety. Here we go again with the weather. If feels like we write this at least once per week.
This game (if played) will wrap-up this two-game series in which the Washington Nationals took last night’s game in a 3-0 final.
Manager Dave Martinez added Ehire Adrianza at third base and Riley Adams at catcher for this game, as Maikel Franco and Keibert Ruiz will go to the bench. They will join Victor Robles and Alcides Escobar on the four-man bench.
The Nats have Patrick Corbin going in this one, and we will see if he can lengthen the Nats’ starters earned run streak that has been zeros in the previous three games from Josiah Gray, Jackson Tetreault, and Erick Fedde.
“I think Corbin’s up next,” Fedde said last night. “Don’t mess it up dude — because we’ve got a good [streak] going.”
With Corbin going tonight, the team will get the day-off tomorrow then the Nats’ first visit to the Rangers’ new stadium with Paolo Espino pitching followed by Gray on Saturday, and Tetreault on Sunday. Fedde would start Monday at Nats Park against Pittsburgh followed by Corbin on Tuesday.
