Jake Irvin was Masterful and Brady House had Two Hits in Saturday’s MiLB Recap

Class-A Fredericksburg “FredNats” Nationals

Brady House is the player of the day with a two-hit day and scoring both of the FredNats runs. The bullpen was phenomenal. They combined for 7.1 innings of shutout baseball to edge out the Hillcats in a pitcher’s duel. The whole pitching staff – four different pitcher’s threw in the game – combined to strike out 14 batters. FredNats win 2-1.

High-A Wilmington Blue Rocks

Tim Cate tossed another quality outing, his third in a row. Cate struck out 11 in 5.2 innings while not surrendering a walk. In 30.1 innings this season, Cate’s ERA is down to 3.26 and his WHIP 1.12. Nick Banks, Yasel Antuna, and Drew Mendoza all drove in runs to tally three for the game. Jose Ferrer slammed the door in the 9th to earn the save. Rocks win 3-2.

Double-A Harrisburg Senators

Jake Irvin made his second start in Double-A, his first at FNB Field, and he was much better than his last time out. Irvin scattered three hits over five shutout innings while striking out five. Despite tallying ten hits, the Senators could only scratch across one run in the first nine innings. They rallied in the bottom of the 10th and with one out and the bases loaded, Gilbert Lara came up with a chance to win it. He smoked a line drive single and won the ball game. Sens have won four in a row, they win yesterday 2-1.

Triple-A Rochester Red Wings

Cole Henry had his first rough outing of the season, but it wasn’t self-inflicted damage (walks), so nothing to fear. Andrew Stevenson, Lucius Fox, Jake Noll, Josh Palacios, Richard Urena, and Matt Lipka all had multiple hits as the team combined for 15 on seven runs. Unfortunately, the Saints offense has been unstoppable and they went for 11 runs on 17 hits. Wings lose 11-7.

Farm System final notes 🎶

Cristhian Vaquero had a walk and a triple in his only at-bats of the game, driving in three runs on the play.
