When a fastball pitcher gets to pitch in Miami, their odds are normally better to succeed in that pitcher’s park. This is a golden opportunity for Joan Adon. Normally a rookie with a 7.03 ERA would not get so many chances, but here Adon is getting another.
The Washington Nationals had a closed-door meeting after the game. Manager Dave Martinez did not want to call it a team meeting rather an informal discussion with his team. While it sounds like semantics, the fact is that rhe mistakes that are being made on the field is embarrassing to watch at times. Physical and mental errors have been aplenty.
For tonight’s lineup, Nelson Cruz is feeling better and back in the lineup. All we can hope for is vetter Nats’ baseball.
“It is what it is. We will keep grinding,” Juan Soto said. “It is not about one game or one series, we have to fight the whole year.”
For Soto, his batting average is at .252, and the opposing pitchers are no longer looking to walk him multiple times a game because some may fear Josh Bell more.
