Here we are with 15-games left on this frustrating season. The Washington Nationals were officially eliminated from the postseason last night and most knew this was inevitable over 60 games ago.
Patrick Corbin takes the mound for the home team. It is the lefty Kyle Freeland for the visiting Rockies.
Last night proved once again that the issue isn’t the offense but rather the extremely offensive pitching that added two more blown saves and another non-quality start to the team’s statistical record.
The good news was watching the newly acquired Lane Thomas and Keibert Ruiz step up big for this team last night. Most of the position players were solid including Ryan Zimmerman off of the bench.
It is good to have reasons to watch these games, and the offense has been promising as well as record breaking when we watch Soto do his thing.
