We are back in Atlanta for the final series in that city this year. A few of the Nats players get to sleep in their off-season homes as they are from the Atlanta area. For the rest, it is the team hotel. This team is starting to gel on offense, and it is good to see. Lane Thomas is embracing the lead-off role, Josh Bell is bashing again, and Juan Soto is making a statement to be considered in the MVP voting.
The Nats will have Paolo Espino on the mound, and the Braves have the lefty Max Fried going for them in a series they really need to dominate to stay ahead of the Phillies in the NL East.
The last time the Nats faced Fried, they had Bell playing in the outfield with Ryan Zimmerman at first base, but tonight Bell will be at first base with lefties Yadiel Hernandez and Luis Garcia as the position players swinging bats from the left side.
At catcher, it will be Riley Adams, as Keibert Ruiz continues to nurse his sore knee because he sustained a bone bruise after he fouled a ball off of his knee a few days ago.
