The seven game losing streak was snapped with this win. There was plenty of fireworks in Mr. Rogers neighborhood in this game. Yes, Josh Rogers almost cruised through six innings on his way to his first victory. Because this was a 7.0 inning game, the bullpen just needed to get through 1 1/3 innings to close out the win.
With huge home runs from Lane Thomas and Alcides Escobar, it was a nice win in this 4-3 final to get the Nats team off of their current schneid.
You could actually see smiles after this game went final in the Washington Nationals dugout. The Nats in the first game of the doubleheader and last night’s game had walk-off opportunities with one out and a runner on third base and could not get it done in either game so to win this one was a really capper on the day.
Now the team will be lighting off fireworks for the fans.
