Maybe the only good news was seeing some of the younger players step up in the first game of the doubleheader as Carter Kieboom and Victor Robles both stood-out in a game with little that went right in a 4-1 loss by the Washington Nationals.
With Erick Fedde on the mound for the Nats, it is just another look at what Fedde can put together for his team. The Mets will counter with Trevor Williams who like Fedde has a 5+ ERA.
Manager Dave Martinez will have a new-look lineup for this second game of this 7-inning doubleheader.
After this game, the Nats will head back to D.C. for a weekend series with Atlanta.
