Another day of rain in the Washington, D.C. area but Mother Nature might have an opening around 6 pm to try to get in this game. These weather models change quickly, and this is in wait and see mode after last night’s game was rained out.
The Nats are sticking with Max Scherzer tonight, and manager Dave Martinez is keeping the same lineup that he penciled up yesterday. It is one of his most analytical lineups he has used based on the starting pitcher, Anthony DeSclafani who many of these players know from his time with the Reds.
Because the bullpen aces pitched in two innings on Wednesday night, yesterday’s postponement might make them both available. Remember, Daniel Hudson and Brad Hand pitched 31 and 44 pitches respectively in that lengthy 11 inning game in Tampa.
Saturday is already scheduled to be a doubleheader so the team is looking for length tonight from Max Scherzer.
