With Erick Fedde on the COVID-IL list and Joe Ross pitching tonight, this is a big start for Ross to show he deserves to stay in the starting rotation. Fedde had pitched a gem in Arizona then tested positive for COVID and has not been see since. Ross has a chance to show that he has made some positive adjustments in his quest to prove he is a viable starter.
The Nats certainly need the offense to also get back on track again. They will face the Reds righty Jeff Hoffman in this game.
As far as the lineup goes, manager Dave Martinez is going with the same lineup as he has the past few days since Victor Robles was injured. Luis Garcia was called up for Robles, but he has not appeared yet and is not in the starting lineup tonight.
The Nats lost last night by a score of 2-1 and need to get back on track as they lost a game in the standings last night.
