In the pre-game, Kyle Schwarber had his Twix bar, and Patrick Corbin was reinstated from the paternity list with Paolo Espino optioned back to Triple-A. You’re all caught up on the pre-game news unless you want to hear about Stephen Strasburg‘s bullpen side session.
Tonight is the second game of this four-game series in and Corbin is on the mound for the Nats and righty Zach Davies for the Cubs. Nats’ manager Dave Martinez inserted Ryan Zimmerman for this one at first base, and Josh Bell will be on the bench for this one.
The original weather forecast looked iffy for tonight, but the chance of rain is 30-40 percent for the evening and closer to 50 percent after the 10pm local time in Chicago.
Trea Turner took the WAR lead in the NL after last night’s game. The top two players on that list are playing in this game as Kris Bryant is right behind Turner.
