On this day, every player and coach will wear No. 42 jerseys. This is Jackie Robinson Day. This will be the first series that will allow up to 25 percent capacity in the stadium under the waivers the D.C. government signed last week with the Washington Nationals. All decks of the stadium are now open for fans. This weekend is a sell-out in this series against the Diamondbacks, however for tonight’s game there are a few hundred tickets available in the upper levels.
Tonight is a key game for Patrick Corbin who had a poor 2020 season, and his first start last week was not good. He enters this game with a 12.46 ERA and will face the team where he started his career and spent six seasons with them until he reached free agency and signed with the Nats. This is certainly a game where Corbin can silence his critics.
On @MLBNetworkRadio, @Jim_Duquette brings up that Patrick Corbin just does not look right. @JimBowdenGM wants to eliminate any chance he is hurt and said he would order MRIs of his shoulder and elbow. #Nats

The Diamondbacks will pitch 32 year old Merrill Kelly who has struggled in his first two starts of this season. The right-hander enters this game with an 8.10 ERA after facing the Padres and Rockies in his prior starts this season.
The Diamondbacks have a face familiar to the Nats, and that is Asdrubal Cabrera who returns as a visitor for the first time since the 2019 World Series.
“I was waiting for [a call], I wont lie,” Cabrera said. “But they never called.”
Jackie left this world a better place.
We can too.
