When you get an opportunity, take advantage as they say. Ben Braymer gets the start in this second game of the doubleheader giving him a chance to show that he belongs.
The first game of this doubleheader was as good as advertised with Max Scherzer and Sandy Alcantara pitching to their spots all game. It was Scherzer who was victimized for two unearned runs leading to the loss.
This is the final road game for the Nats and the end of the road for this 2020 season. The next time the team will gather in Florida will be for Spring Training in February of 2021.
As far as the lineup goes, it will be all batters who can bat righty except for Juan Soto to face the Marlins lefty Braxton Garrett.
After this game, the Nats will fly back to D.C. for a series with the Philadelphia Phillies that begins tomorrow. The Nats have another doubleheader on Tuesday which is the team’s third doubleheader in a span of five days. All of that is thanks to MLB which did not space in enough open days on the calendar for unforeseen events.
