These seven inning doubleheaders are great when your starter goes deep in the first game of the doubleheader, and mission accomplished by Erick Fedde who threw a 6.0 inning one-hit shutout that Will Harris finished up for a 5-0 win. Now it is Wil Crowe’s turn to pitch a gem.
The second game of this doubleheader will start 45-minutes after the first game ended, and this one will start at 8:10 EDT. That will make this a long night for all involved in what is scheduled as a 14-inning day.
There is certainly some momentum for the Nats hitters who made some very nice contact at the bottom of the Nats order.
With a fresh bullpen, manager Dave Martinez only had to use Harris as mentioned, and it gives him an opportunity for a quick hook if need. But all hope is that Crowe pitches a great game for the Washington Nationals as this is his chance to shine.
