The Washington Nationals got permission from MLB to host “Watch Parties” at Nationals Park, and it is FREE! There will also be several bars and restaurants in the Navy Yard hosting their own “indoor” events. Of course thereĀ are other establishments in the DMV hoping to take advantage of the World Series, and some are planning to bring in special guests. As we have more information, we will pass it on.
For Game 1, the matchups look to be Max Scherzer vs. Gerrit Cole, Game 2, Stephen Strasburg vs. Justin Verlander, and Game 3 in Washington, D.C. should matchup Zack Greinke vs. Patrick Corbin, and Game 4 with Anibal Sanchez.
The Nationals team buses will be loading up around noon and they will head to Dulles Airport for an early afternoon flight set to takeoff at 1:15 pm. The Nationals will have a walk-through at Minute Maid Park as well as hold interviews.
There were questions as to why the Nationals did not fly to Houston yesterday, and the team wanted to follow their same schedule they have been on. The team had a Sim Game and practices, and with Scherzer on the mound should be ready to go tomorrow for first pitch at 8:08 PM.
The Nationals like in the other series will release their roster mid-day tomorrow. It is expected that the team will have a roster very similar to their NLCS roster. Would anyone be surprised if there was a surprise move? There were a few players that never made it into a game like Wander Suero who was only on the roster for one game as a paternity replacement, Austin, Javy Guerra, and Roenis Elias. In total, the Nationals used eight pitchers in the NLCS and all of their bench players.
