Game #84 Nats start the 6-game homestand tonight!

There are six games remaining for the Nationals before the All-Star break, and tonight is the first game in this six game homestand. Patrick Corbin is on the mound to face the Marlins who he just faced last week in Miami in this same matchup. The Nationals had a much needed day-off yesterday which certainly gave at least two days of rest to every reliever except for Sean Doolittle who was the only bullpen arm needed in Max Scherzer‘s win in Detroit on Sunday.

The Marlins will go with their rookie righthander Zac Gallen who the Nats faced last week. Gallen tried to pitch into the sixth inning, and the Nats pounced on him and knocked him out of the game with one-run in and two runners on-base when the Big City Matt Adams connected for a 3-run blast to put the Nationals up by a score of 4-1.

Will Matt Adams start again versus Zac Gallen? We will see when manager Dave Martinez posts his lineup card. There was discussion about Wilmer Difo rejoining the Nationals as he was pulled early in Sunday’s game, and he did not play last night for Triple-A Fresno while he is still on the roster. Stay tuned on that.
