After today’s game, Max Scherzer only has three more starts before Opening Day. In this tune-up game, Scherzer should be looking at working in 60+ pitches and four innings of work.
The position players should be getting in more work also. Each catcher has had the opportunity to work with each starting pitcher also as the battery mates gain a familiarity with each other. Will there be any personal catcher situations? Wait and see on that.
As far as the batting order, if Spring Training is any indication then Trea Turner looks like the leadoff man with Adam Eaton in the two hole followed by Anthony Rendon and Juan Soto. Certainly the next three weeks will give some more indications on what to expect.
This game is the second game this spring that is televised on MASN.
