This afternoon “T-RO” and “WHEELS” are on the mound for their respective teams. For the Washington Nationals, their streaks took an ominous turn into the deep abyss of a scoring drought of 18 innings and 2 straight losses when their starting pitchers gave up 2 runs on Thursday and only 1 run on Friday. The two game losing streak certainly comes at a time when the Nationals looked like they were primed for a long winning streak.
As the Players’ Weekend continues, the fans’ season of watching their team under-perform continues. The theme is familiar at times where the offense shuts down for Gio Gonzalez against a struggling starter for the other team, but they also did not push across a run against an ace like Aaron Nola which at least you can understand — but to go scoreless against Jason Vargas who gives up runs routinely, that is a recurring theme for this 2018 Nationals team.
