The Washington Nationals welcome the New York Mets to the FITTEAM Ballpark of the Palm Beaches for an afternoon of baseball. It is another heavyweight bout featuring two of the marquee names in pitching. The Nationals have Stephen Strasburg and the Mets counter with Noah Syndergaard who has been sending radar guns all spring into triple digits with his blazing fastball.
For much of the spring, Syndergaard has been doing interviews and workouts wearing no shirt which is odd in a game that used to be so traditional.

For what it’s worth, Strasburg and Syndergaard should be enough to fill up a spring training stadium and add to that an opportunity to see Tim Tebow and Bryce Harper and you have enough star power to light a city.
Today’s game also marks the midway point in the Grapefruit League schedule with days off tomorrow and next Wednesday — there are only 15 days of games remaining in the spring schedule before the Nationals head home and play an exhibition game against the Minnesota Twins that should have been at the Naval Academy but instead will be played at Nationals Park on March 27th.
With such a short schedule before opening day, will there be enough time to get Adam Eaton, Daniel Murphy, Koda Glover, and Ryan Zimmerman the requisite game action to get ready? Each player prepares themselves on a unique timetable. Ryan Zimmerman should be ready, and we have been hoping to see Adam Eaton soon in games. For Murphy and Glover, there is almost zero percent chance they will be ready for opening day in Cincinnati on March 29th.
