We have finally reached the triple digit mark on the season game counter. After today’s game, the Nationals have 62 games remaining on the regular season schedule. The Nationals are coming off of a dramatic comeback win last night. Today the Nats pitch Max Scherzer and the Milwaukee Brewers had to replace the injured Matt Garza and they will pitch right-hander Michael Blazek.
The Nationals also made two roster moves by placing Stephen Strasburg on the 10-day DL with right elbow nerve impingement. Taking Strasburg’s spot will be lefty reliever Sammy Solis. Also, Dusty Baker announced that Erick Fedde will be called up for his debut start on Saturday against the Rockies.
You have to wonder if Dusty Baker re-did his line-up as it was rumored that Ryan Zimmerman was going to have the day-off today along with Matt Wieters. Last night Zimmerman had the big hit to break open the game with an opposite field double. The line-up is the same as last night with Jose Lobaton taking Wieters’ spot and of course Max Scherzer batting 9th.
