The Nats held on to the 4-1 lead they held for 6 inning with Roark earning the win as he dropped his ERA to 2.89. Jonathan Papelbon earned his 12th save and with a great 8th inning Hold by Shawn Kelley, the bullpen once again did a great job. Felipe Rivero relieved Tanner Roark and finished off the 7th.
Ryan Zimmerman and Michael Taylor both had key home runs. Jayson Werth the birthday boy had 2 hits as did Anthony Rendon. Wilson Ramos had a key double with a runner on for the GW RBI.
The Nats had some slick fielding plays by Daniel Murphy, Danny Espinosa and Jayson Werth who threw a seed right on the bag at 2nd nailed the runner stretching a single into a double.
Nats had chances to blow the game wide open, but the 4-1 score stood up. The Nats are back to 10 games over .500 at 26-16 and working back to their best margin since the team was 18-7 on May 2nd.
