For the first time since Opening Day, the Nationals have all their starters back on the field, including Max Scherzer as the SP. Ben Revere is back and is batting lead-off. This looks like the Opening Day line-up. In all fairness, Ben Revere might need some time to adjust to look like the player that Mike Rizzo traded for.
As most expected, it was Matt den Dekker optioned back to Triple-A Syracuse to make room on the active roster for Ben Revere. There could be several reasons that it was den Dekker chosen over Michael Taylor for the demotion.
The Cubs have John Lackey on the mound today for this game with the 2:20 start time.
Max Scherzer vs. the Cubs
John Lackey vs. the Nationals
Because Ben Revere wasn’t activated, his stats did not factor into the box. He is a career 1-10 versus Lackey. Best Nats lead-off man off of Lackey was Nyjer Morgan. He was 3-4.
