So is Dusty reacting to limited offense? Or is this just his normal tinkering for a late afternoon game after a night game?
Dusty Baker only made a few personnel changes and shifted players in his line-up. Danny Espinosa gets the coveted 2 spot in his start today as Anthony Rendon gets an ‘observation’ day on the bench next to Michael Taylor, and Jose Lobaton who has had some defensive scuffles needed a day off as he hasn’t played 3 consecutive games since August 7, 2014.
Speaking of famous dates in Nats history, 4 years ago today on April 28, 2012 was BHDD. That’s right, Bryce Harper Debut Day. Bryce shared this #TBT with us:
Tanner Roark takes the mound today as many here will be watching to see if he can repeat his great start from 5 days ago or if he will have any residual effect form a career high pitch count of 121 in one game. Roark’s previous career high was 112 pitches.
Aaron Nola of the Phillies will take the mound in this 4:05pm start time, and the Phillies will return to that lefty dominant line-up for this Philadelphia team that enters with an 11-10 record. Some of you might recall that Nola was chosen with the 7th pick overall 2 years ago in the 1st round out of LSU and was teammates with the P-Nats Andrew Stevenson. They shared many great memories together including this game: Andrew Stevenson Web Gem
Nola took the loss just 12 days ago giving up 7 runs as the Nats as Bryce Harper connected off of him for a 2-run HR.
Here is the lineup (subject to change):
- Matt den Dekker CF
- Danny Espinosa SS
- Bryce Harper RF
- Ryan Zimmerman 1B
- Daniel Murphy 2B
- Jayson Werth LF
- Stephen Drew 3B
- Pedro Severino C
- Tanner Roark P
