Werth and Escobar get rest day and Werth really needs it. The game status of Escobar will be known later to see if he is available off the bench or continues to be day-to-day as to when he can play. This is crucial as if Esco isn’t available the bench would be Robinson, Turner and Lobaton and that’s it. Additional inch-hitting candidates are pitchers like Fister, Jordan Zimmermann, Strasburg, and Scherzer.
Jungmann was a 2011 highly rated draft pick who the Brewers took #12 overall in the 1st round. He can pitch like an ace some days and others not so much. The Nats faced him once already in his 2nd career start and beat him.
Jungmann throws a fastball (4 seam) and a slow curveball which he throws often, and then a few times will throw the hard sinker and a changeup. Fastball velo in the low 90’s and sometimes reaches 93mph. He won’t overpower you, but he does such a good job making that curve look like a fastball is coming that he tends to get swing and miss often on it and weak contact when put in play. The scouting report says if his curveball is effective, Jungmann will be hard to beat. Lefties hit him at .242 and righties are hovering on the Mendoza line at .199
